This report documents the results of the Automated Post Enumeration Survey (PES) test which utilized handheld computers for PES data collection. As can be expected in a testing environment, problems were encountered. However, the interviewers were able to use the portable computers to conduct interviews. In addition, respondents accepted the use of a computer during the interviews. These two positive points show that it is indeed possible to use portable computers for data collection.
