This research examines the interaction among school students during a laboratory activity in a science museum in order to shed light on the value of such activity in the museum. For this purpose I ask: What sorts of interactions take place between peers during laboratory activity in a science museum? This qualitative study was conducted on 60 fourth grade students from four schools in the city of Be'er Sheva, visiting the Carasso Science Park - an interactive science museum. The schools participating in the study represent the diversity of the population the city: two state schools, one state-religious school and one orthodox school. The activities as the laboratory were audio and video taped, and analyzed using inductive analysis. -- From the abstract.
