A series of qualitative dye traces were performed to connect groundwater drainage from a jet fuel leak site on Campbell Army Airfield, Kentucky, to outlet springs on surrounding streams. Drainage from the leak site was traced to Quarles Spring, a large private spring located outside of the military installation. Fluorescent dyes absorbed by either charcoal or cotton detectors were used in pairs to trace flow from different inputs simultaneously.
