The Technical University of Sofia is a successor to the Higher Technical School in Sofia which opened doors in 1942, renamed to State Polytechnic in 1945. This means that the Technical University of Sofia is the first higher technical school in Bulgaria. Nowadays the Technical University of Sofia with its more than 18 000 students is biggest and the most reputable university in Bulgaria. Over the years, it is a center of intense and successful innovative activities. 70 years innovative solutions in the Technical University of Sofia were presented and discussed at the Plenary session of VII ISC “e-Governance”. Bulgaria first of all Balkan countries, and before many European countries create with their own forces, own TV, which helped to increase the international prestige of the country. The first TV signal in Bulgaria was emitted in 1952 at the building of Technical University of Sofia. The first university Educational Computing Centre was involved in the structure of Technical University of Sofia in 1969. Innovative government decisions occur since 1974 until now. The beginning of Management Information Systems is started in 1974 with a System for Management Educational Process. Since 1989 was started the First Network based Academic Information System and Statistics - AISS*89. In the new century innovative solutions In the University continues with multi module Modern Management Information System according to principles of e-Government - E-TUS.
