The species of Pseudohylesinus, so far as now known, range from Alaska to Panama, and in the United States are confined to the western forests. In these forests the several species of true firs (Abies) most commonly serve as hosts for this genus of beetles.
In considering the adoption of soil-conserving methods of farming the farmer is faced with the problem of choosing changes in land use and cropping practices that are most desirable in reducing or preventing soil losses. Costs may be affected, net income increased or decreased, and the value of the land altered.
