"instructors to choose to cover all of the systems at once (by assigning the whole chapter) or to distribute them to other chapters. For students using the distributed approach, appropriate subsequent chapters have salient notes that tell students when to read a specific module that is relevant to the current material"--

In this case study, we describe a project we conducted on stress and social support in daily life in a sample of undergraduate students. We used an intensive longitudinal design, which involved getting repeated reports of the worst stressor participants recently experienced, their perceptions of that stressor, and how they coped with that stressor. We examined whether the stressor context was associated with how individuals coped. We also examined the role of personality in the process of coping with stress. Here, we will provide details of the conceptual framework that led us to ask our research questions, why we chose an intensive longitudinal method to answer these research questions, and the challenges that we overcame in implementing this design.
