  • Book cover of A Chaplain's Book Of Poems

These poems I write are a gift from God. I am only a scribe not the author, I know to many I’m odd. I don’t take credit for these incredible God-inspired poems. I’m hoping many will read them worldwide in their homes. God reveals some exciting concepts it seems every day. Many times when I start the poems I don’t know what He’ll say. But, as each poem starts to develop I get the idea. Then the meaning behind the poem becomes quite clear. Every day it seems there is another treasure in print. Sometimes I ask God what He wants me to write, or just give me a hint. Many times I get the idea — the poem was intended just for me. Other times, my poems hit home with you — I’m sure you’ll agree. In this time of unrest and turmoil we need God’s guidance it’s true. Sometimes without God’s guidance we wouldn’t know what to do. Thank God that He doesn’t change — His word is always true. So, study the Word, pray and talk to God, He loves to hear from you!

  • Book cover of Mythical Ireland

Mythical Ireland embodies the search for a soul among Ireland's ancient ruins, and is an attempt to retrieve something of deeper import from 5,000-year-old megalithic monuments and their associated myths. The book represents a fascinating and engaging journey through time, landscape and the human spirit. Dealing with archaeology, interpretive mythography, cosmology and cosmogony, the book attempts to grapple with a core meaning, something beyond the functional interpretations of academia. In this revised and expanded edition, Anthony Murphy delves further into the many enthralling aspects of this journey. Just how much knowledge did locals have of the secrets of Newgrange before it was excavated? Who is the Cailleach, the ancient hag goddess whose image is ubiquitous in the ancient landscape? What happened to make Ireland's Stonehenge disappear from the landscape? Who were the first kings of Tara? What were the indigenous Irish myths about the Milky Way? Did someone try to steal the Tara Brooch? Why are there myths in Ireland about flooded towns and cities? Lavishly illustrated with exquisite photographs of the Irish landscape and ancient monuments, Mythical Ireland represents a personal and yet universal journey, a quest to reimagine the shrines as empowering and transformative sacred places. Murphy invokes the druids and poets of the Boyne and thus the sídhe of the ancient texts are reawakened for a modern and turbulent world.

  • Book cover of Musings & Meditations

This anthology of original poems explores such topics as fatherhood, American politics, Zen meditation, environmental conservation, seasonal changes, religion, and more. Most of the poems are accompanied by commentary which provides a basis for your own personal meditations. Sample poem & commentary: IT TURNS EVEN NOW He who crests the summer sky will now descend and gently die This wheel of time has turned again the season at its height now bends till once more clouds release their snow and blankets us all here below that wheel will itself move and turn and melt the snows with a sky that burns. So walk the labyrinth of old, and listen well to knowledge gold All things bow and kneel to time just a part in Mother Nature's rhyme. ...The turning of the great wheel has always been a special and sacred moment to many peoples around the world. Nearly every facet of our lives is shaped and directed by this natural process, from the architecture of our buildings, to the amount and type of work we perform in our professions, to how we spend our leisure time. This poem etches out the seasonal transition of Midsummer's light and warmth, through autumn, and onto the cold and blustery winds of winter. The one constant in the universe is change. What changes can you observe happening in the natural world around you right now? Are these changes in some way significant to you personally? What emotions do you draw from them?
