En la búsqueda de un desarrollo sustentable que permita una alianza virtuosa entre el sector público, privado y la ciudadanía —en armonía con los recursos naturales y el cuidado del medioambiente—, la Universidad Austral de Chile ha jugado un rol preponderante al favorecer la generación de bienes públicos, formando personas altamente calificadas y contribuyendo a la descentralización del conocimiento, la ciencia, la cultura y la tecnología.
