This report focuses on the cost to the economy as a whole ofsupplying power to a mine, i.e., the analysis is undertaken froma social benefit/cost perspective rather than a financial one. The following four power supply options are examined: Extensionsfrom B.C. Hydro's grid; energy supply from a coal-fired thermalplant at Klappan; hydro generation near mine sites; dieselgenerators at mine sites.
