The research tries to highlight the results of Mihevc's rich creativity ranging from architectural details to urbanism, second to none in comparison to the extend of today's architectural production, and to reveal the positive and negative influences of his creativity on the evolution of Slovenian architecture. Mihevc was educated and worked in the period of Modernism, nevertheless his work is not typical characteristic of those architectural trends. The influences of foreign architectural achievements can be traced in his architectural works but they represent more likely a creative interpretation in the sense of mimesis rather than an emotionless (routine-like) imitation, in other words, his entire work is a search for (a research on) architectural archetypes. It reflects a respect of continuity, a constant dyaloque between the existent and the new, and at the same dyaloque between the existent and the new, and at the same time the experience and a wareness of the distinctive spirit of a place (genius loci), its characteristics, typical building materials, architectural details, decorations,...etc.
