This work covers the period from the birth of the Russian avant-garde around 1910 until the height of Stalinism around 1940. It explores the revival of Jewish culture and the position of those Jewish artists who contributed to the revolutionary Soviet art. Abstract works by El Lissitzky and Socialist-Realist paintings by Isaak Brodsky among many others are presented.
