De ce marinarie, de ce marea? Cred ca mergem pe mare pentru a descoperi ultimul taram necunoscut: noi insine. Stim limitele lumii fizice mai bine decat ni le cunoastem pe ale noastre. Aici, pe mare, descoperim din ce suntem facuti cu adevarat. Aici, pe mare, renastem. Aici, pe bucatile astea de metal plutitor, in fiecare zi, fie in intunericul puntii de comanda sau in caldura si zgomotul camerei masini, respirand aerul sarat sau vaporii de combustibil, fortam in continuare limite…limitele noastre. Marinaria inseamna izolare, singuratate, efort fizic si psihic, inseamna ore lungi de munca, inseamna asteptare, nervi intinsi la maxim, inseamna lipsuri, inseamna anonimat.
