The collection contains materials relating to the United States (U.S.) Army service of Oness H. Dixon, Jr. The materials include Dixon's handwritten memoir covering his time in Shkotovo and Vladivostok, Siberia during World War I, with a typed transcript of the memoir. Also included in the collection are a condolence letter from a veterans organization to Dixon's widow; four personal copies of Dixon's U.S. Army books; magazine and news clippings regarding American troops in Russia during World War I and the reunion of those units; two photographs of Dixon as a lieutenant and as a colonel; and a small panoramic photograph of Vladivostok, Russia. The collection includes Dixon's photograph album from June 1919 to June 1921. The majority of the photographs were taken by Dixon while he was stationed in Siberia, Russia. A Use Copy of the album is included to record the original order.
