Report, Mar. 20, 1869, of John A. Rawlins, secretary of war, conveying the observations of the military commander in Florida regarding the situation of the Seminole Indians there. The report notes that the 150 Seminole warriors remaining in Florida were restless and dissatisfied due to rumors that troops were planning to liberate the "colored people living among them." It recommends that measures be taken to bring the Seminoles under the supervision of the Indian Bureau and move them to a reservation west of Arkansas.
