Imagine having to create a book with no author—relying on chance and nature to arrange the letters to write a sentence and then organize the tens of thousands sentences into a book. The idea seems ridiculous—and yet that is exactly what evolution asks us to believe. In Evolution Disproven, author Michelle Scott draws out the comparison between writing a book and creating life using scientifically based arguments. She proposes that using Darwinian evolution to explain the diversity of life is like creating a library filled with books all created by nature. Evolution is the book of life written without an author, but the creation of life is exponentially more complex than that of a book—so much so that all available scientific intelligence combined with supercomputers have never been able to create life from nonlife. Even so, evolutionary theory tells us intelligence isn’t necessary and that nature created life. This study examines the extreme mental gymnastics scientists engage in to support their evolutionary theory, one that has become a religion to many in the scientific community. But creation more than adequately reveals God’s power and divinity, and there is no excuse for unbelief. Creation makes God plain to those who would open their eyes.

As one of the first African American vocalists to be recorded, Bessie Smith is a prominent figure in American popular culture and African American history. Michelle R. Scott uses Smith's life as a lens to investigate broad issues in history, including industrialization, Southern rural to urban migration, black community development in the post-emancipation era, and black working-class gender conventions. Arguing that the rise of blues culture and the success of female blues artists like Bessie Smith are connected to the rapid migration and industrialization in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Scott focuses her analysis on Chattanooga, Tennessee, the large industrial and transportation center where Smith was born. This study explores how the expansion of the Southern railroads and the development of iron foundries, steel mills, and sawmills created vast employment opportunities in the postbellum era. Chronicling the growth and development of the African American Chattanooga community, Scott examines the Smith family's migration to Chattanooga and the popular music of black Chattanooga during the first decade of the twentieth century, and culminates by delving into Smith's early years on the vaudeville circuit.

A is for Attitude, the ABCs of Life is a book that was inspired by Robert Butler (Papa), the Grandfather and Great-Grandfather of the co-authors of the book. While growing up, Papa would use proverbs to teach his grandchildren and great-grandchildren lessons that he hoped would carry them throughout their lifetime. As he got older, Shelli, his oldest granddaughter sat down with him to record the proverbs that he shared with his family, however, he was able to recall only one proverb, which was C is for cough, its cousin is sneeze. Cover them both with your handkerchief please. So, we created a proverb for the remaining letters of the alphabet and have shared them with you. Not only will you be introduced to a proverb for each letter of the alphabet, you will also have the opportunity to experience the vibrant illustrations that represent people from diverse backgrounds who are different races, ethnicities, religions, and have different abilities. It is our hope that the proverbs shared within this book will resonate with you and your family. We also hope that you are able to relate to the illustrations. We also employed the flip method, where you are able to flip the book upside down and experience the book in black & white. It was our intent for readers to be able to color the pictures to represent themselves or those whom they love. We hope that you enjoy reading and interacting with the book as much as we enjoyed writing and illustrating the book.

This vital book considers the compelling and addictive hold that racism has had on centuries of Americans, explores historical and contemporary norms complicit in the problem, and appeals to the U.S. government to improve race relations, rectify existent social imperfections, and guard against future race-based abuses. Despite an assertion by the founding fathers that "all men are created equal" and the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution that guarantees "equal protection," the race-based oppression that has characterized most of America's history shows that in practice our society has rarely measured up to principle. Why has deep-seated racial conflict in America continued for so long? This unprecedented examination into the topic explores the evidence and consequences of what seems to be an "addiction" to racism in the United States, analyzing the related disconnect between our nation's stated moral principles and social realities, and assessing how U.S. citizens of all races can take individual action to start the long-needed healing process. The contributors to this work present interdisciplinary perspectives and discussions on American history, politics, philosophy, and 21st-century psycho-social conditions as they relate to the oppression, social injustice, and racism that have occurred—and continue to occur—in the United States. The discussions allow readers to grasp the serious challenges at hand and direct them towards recognizing the potential for conflict transformation and reconciliation through a non-conventional co-created Truth, Reconciliation, and Peace Process (TRPP) to begin resolving America's dysfunction. This is essential reading for anyone who seeks to understand the sources of perpetual racially based conflict, disparity, and hatred in the United States; identify the social injuries of exposure to centuries of racism; move America towards harmonious interracial relationships; and improve its international standing as a peace-building nation that is truly committed to human rights throughout the world.
