Story re-creates, in a futuristic context, the people, events and politics that drew the world in the early 1900's into the Great War. While the setting is science fictional and some science fiction is used, it is primarily a backdrop. This story is as much/more political satire than any other subject. Many current political issues and figures play marginal roles.
