This report, which is part of a series, deals with the ideal gas molecules P2, P4, PF2, PF3, PF4, PF5 and P2F4, by the formulas of statistical mechanics. The thermodynamic data have been calculated at selected intervals between 0 and 6000 degrees K, and also at 273.15 and 298.15 degrees K. Some thermodynamic aspects of the reactions of phosphorus fluorides are discussed.

This book contains maerial, with analyses of the results obtained by fluorine combustion calorimetry over the past two decades and is devoted to problems that dominated the development of fluorine bomb calorimetry: purification and analysis of fluorine; methods devied for the combustion of different substances and analysis of the reaction products; construction of calorimetric bombs; peripheral apparatus for the safe manipulation of F2 and fluorides; and matters that address the treatment of experimentalresults of combustion of different substances in fluorine and other fluorine-containing oxidants.

This is the fourth volume in the series "Experimental Thermodynamics" – a series summarizing the current state of knowledge regarding experimental techniques in thermodynamics and thermochemistry, and edited by the IUPAC Commission on Thermodynamics. This latest volume is concerned with solution calorimetry and considers the calorimetry of both reacting and non–reacting systems. The contributions reflect and summarize the current state of development of techniques for the measurement of the energy effects involved in reaction and mixing in solution over a range of temperature and pressure. These techniques are also considered in the light of their application to current concerns in chemical research and the chemical industry.
