This account is written by the wife of British officer, Major P. M. Robinson of 1/5th Sherwood Foresters who was interned as a prisoner of war in Number 4 Camp in Bam Pong Thailand during the Japanese Occupation. Written in 1944, her account is based on the experiences of Private Ward of 1/5th Sherwood Foresters and Gunner Simpson R.A. who were interned with her husband in the same camp. The men first arrived in Singapore and they were later transferred to Thailand to clear jungles and make roads.
