(3), from 15 Connaught Terrace, indicates that perhaps it is better that he, Taunton, and Kean "should stand to each other relatively as [they] stood before the year 1859." (4), also from 15 Connaught Terrace, expresses Taunton's desire not to get in the way of Charles Kean's recovery; if his (Taunton's) last letter would have upset Kean, Mrs. Kean was right to keep it from him.
