Here is a richly detailed and vivid biography of the man who wrote Charlotte's Web, The Trumpet of the Swan, and Stuart Little; the White of Strunk and White; the writer whose style and humor were so important in distinguishing The New Yorker's first thirty years. Included are some fifty photographs and drawings, as well as manuscript facsimiles.

"The endpapers reproduced here are from the manuscript of "Lycidas," presumed to be the original, that is preserved in the library of Trinity College, Cambridge. They are certainly in Milton's hand, and only a few of the corrections were made after the poem was published in 1638 and before it appeared in Milton's Poems (1645). The entire Trinity Manuscript, consisting of fifty pages and containing many of Milton's poems as well as lists of subjects for poems and plans for Paradise Lost, can be seen in the collotype reproduction edited by W. Aldis Wright (Cambridge, 1899) and in the reproduction of it published for the Facsimile Text Society by Columbia University Press (New York, 1933). -- Book jacket.

A desperate plea for the generosity of others. Being a rarity of generosity myself, I know the power and effect it wields. We find ourselves in too deep to get out alone. It is my fault for falling apart for a time. I was surety and solidarity in the eyes of the ones I let down. I am working to get back onto the even keel but the process is stalling. The hardships have been flowing so long the gates of the dam of control might not know how to close anymore. I have been paddling trying to get back to that point of neutrality where I might take a rest. I need to right this ship so that we might go back about our business, building men and mending souls. We have a month to generate $25,000. It is a daunting but surmountable goal. This short book amplifies the urgency and expands on the value this family has here in this place. A place here on Earth. The GoFundMe campaign under the same title as this book is the pool where we will gather the generosity of others. The Dana Paramita. My sincere thanks for even reading this description. My eternal gratitude and spiritual invigoration to those compelled to give further. Blessings.
