Sofie Bird Møller ist für Wilhelm Schürmann, den prominenten Sammler und Ausstellungsmacher aus Aachen, ”sehr gut im Weglassen“, und so knüpft er ihr in seinem einleitenden Text ein Band für ihre bewunderten Auslassungen und Übermalungen. Das noch schmale OEuvre der Schülerin von Günther Förg wird mit dieser Einzelpublikation zum ersten Mal solo dokumentiert und umfassend vorgestellt. Vielleicht ist das wirklich Verblüffendste an diesen Übermalungen, die im kleinen Format ebenso gut funktionieren wie auf den großen übermalten Plakatwänden, welche die junge Künstlerin schon in München, London und Berlin verschiedentlich ”nachts“ ausgeführt hat, dass das Sujet für diese Art expressiver Attacke wie gemacht zu sein scheint, so als habe ein fürchterlich langweiliger Umstand genau auf dieses Rauschhafte, eine solche Explosion gewartet. Die Ausführung wirkt schnell, das verstärkt diesen Eindruck noch, und ist dabei doch so präzise, dass der puzzleartige Zusammenfall ganz logisch erscheint. Neben den Acrylarbeiten, Sofie Bird Møller nennt ihre übermalten Zeitschriftenseiten und Plakatwände Interferenzen, zeigt der Band eine ganze Reihe überarbeiteter Stiche. Die Eingriffe der Künstlerin wirken wie Retuschen, Korrekturen, die das Historische des Ausgangsmaterials ins Zeitlose auflösen.
