The purpose of the study was to determine if there was is a significant difference in student achievement between students who use mobile devices and students who do not use mobile devices in district classroom settings. The findings of this study will be used to help shape district policy regarding the use of mobile devices by students in the classroom setting. The study uses the School District composite ACT scores from graduating seniors during the school years of 2011-2015 were used to determine where or not student achievement is declining due to the increased use of mobile devices by students. The data for this study was obtained from the DESE archives. The data was separated by students where were allowed to use mobile devices and students who were not allowed to use mobile devices and a t-test was conducted to see if there was a significant difference in student achievement. The study concluded that there was a slight increase in composite ACT test scores among students that were allowed to use mobile devices in district classrooms settings, however, the increase is not statistically significant.

In every era, there is a group that stands out among the rest. Ones that are called upon to protect those who cannot protect themselves. They defend countries, kingdoms, values, honor. The uphold standards that would quash most. They are Warriors. Warriors transcend time and place. They become immortal through the stories told about them, forever etched in history. Between these covers are the stories of the samurai. Bound by honor, loyalty, and pride. The swing of a katana blade, the Code of Bushido, art forms in motion, the samurai were a different breed. Twenty-three international authors will show you what it means to have honor in We Were Warriors: Samurai.
