Toxicity of detergent levels to rainbow trout was determined by probit analysis. Effects on gill tissues and blood were noted and measured. Destruction of gill tissues were severe. The respiratory surface was greatly reduced by lysis and clumping of lamellae. Edema in the epithelial cells of the lamellae and thrombi in the capillaries was evident.
