Proceedings of the 9th International Symposium on Scale Modeling This volume contains the works presented at the ninth edition of the International Symposium on Scale Modeling, ISSM9. The symposium brought together 53 scientists from 8 different countries and 3 continents, from both Academia and Research Centers; they participated virtually or in person to present the latest developments and trends in scale application and progress in several engineering fields (mostly in continuum mechanics and fluid dynamics). During the symposium there were 4 keynote talks, the related abstracts are here enclosed. The contents of the talks are about the state-of-the-art of similitude theory and scale modeling and they are useful for any researcher interested in similar topics.

El presente libro es un producto colectivo de los investigadores del Departamento de Ciencias Sociales de la Regional Norte (DCS-RN) de la Universidad de la República (UdelaR). En dicho Departamento, el que es resultado de un proceso de descentralización universitaria iniciado hace veinte años, se tiene como objetivo la realización de investigación en la temática del desarrollo regional. Desde 2010, la participación en el Programa Fomento a la Calidad de la Investigación en elconjunto de la UdelaR, de la Comisión Sectorial de Investigación Científica de la UdelaR (CSIC), permitió consolidar dos grandes líneas de investigación. Estas son: 1)Transformaciones productivas, empleo y desarrollo territorial, y, 2) La dimensión territorial de las transformaciones en los marcos políticos-institucionales. La publicación de este libro forma parte de los objetivos de dicho Programa, en el mismo se presentan resultados de investigaciones en curso y reflexiones teóricas.
