In early 1941 dad met our mother on a blind date. He immediately fell in love and proposed that very evening. When the time was right he popped the question a second time - this time she said 'yes' without hesitation. They were married on December 5th, 1941, 2 days before the bombing of Pear Harbor. They were married for 49 years and 4 months. Dad died 4 days after his 76th birthday. Mom went on to live for another 16 years without him.This is a collection of the love letters mom held on to for over 66 years. I discovered them when cleaning out her home when she died in 2007.
