Extract: These are the memoirs of Dr. F. Waldo Walsh, a former Deputy Minister of Agriculture for Nova Scotia, who fought the farmer and the "little man" against big business and big government from the early 1920's through the 1970's. He led the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture to become an ally of the Antigonish movement and of co-operatives. The episodes in the book reflect the intensity of Walsh's struggle to protect the family farmer against "the big interests."
