The consumption of fossil and other raw materials is finite. Moreover, it causes greenhouse gases and costs energy. In Europe and the Netherlands, the circular economy is stimulated with one of the most important goals being to reduce the amount of residual waste, but especially to prevent the generation of waste. What does the circular economy mean for current waste law, product and substance law and the relationship between the two jurisdictions? The contributions included in this volume show that the intended change to a circular economy raises a multitude of legal issues in various areas of law.
